Introducing AI Project Drafting for AI Rule Engine

Apr 7, 2026

We’re excited to announce AI project drafting for AI Rule Engine, a new way to create a project workflow from a natural-language prompt. Instead of starting every project from a blank canvas, you can now describe the workflow you want, let AI generate an initial draft, and then keep refining that same draft with follow-up prompts until it is ready to save.

What This Means for You

With AI project drafting, you can now:

  • Start with a Prompt Instead of a Blank Screen: Describe the workflow, inputs, decisions, and actions you want the project to model.
  • Work Inside a Resumable Session: The first prompt creates a server-side draft session that can be resumed later instead of being lost after one pass.
  • Refine with Multiple Prompts: Each new prompt revises the existing draft rather than starting over, so you can iteratively improve the same project.
  • Review Before Anything Becomes Real: Nothing is committed as a saved project until you approve the generated draft.

Why AI Project Drafting Matters

Starting a new workflow often means translating a rough business idea into conditions, action sets, rule sets, and project structure before any real iteration can begin. That first setup step can slow teams down, especially when they already know what they want the workflow to do but do not want to assemble every part manually from scratch.

AI project drafting shortens that gap. It gives teams a faster way to turn intent into a working draft, then improve it in-place through revision. Instead of treating generation as a one-shot output, AI Rule Engine keeps the draft session around so teams can continue refining the same result over time.

Draft Sessions Built for Iteration

This capability is built around sessions, not disposable prompts. Your first prompt creates a draft session on the server, and each later prompt updates that same draft. That means you can come back to a previous session, review what the AI produced, inspect validation results, and request changes without throwing away the work that has already been done.

This is especially useful when a workflow needs several rounds of shaping. You might start with a broad request, then add details about approvals, integrations, edge cases, output handling, or naming. Each revision can build on the previous draft instead of forcing you to restate everything from scratch.

A Practical Example: Drafting an Intake Workflow

Imagine you need a new intake workflow for onboarding requests. Your first prompt might describe the basic process: accept a request, validate the input, route it for approval, and notify the requester. AI Rule Engine can turn that into an initial project draft with the core workflow artifacts already outlined.

From there, you can keep refining it with more prompts. Add escalation rules. Change the approval path. Introduce an external call. Adjust the expected outputs. Because the session is resumable, you can continue shaping the same draft until it matches the workflow you actually want to save.

How to Get Started

Getting started with AI project drafting is straightforward:

  1. Open New Project Options: In AI Rule Engine, choose to generate a new project with AI.
  2. Select the Target Type: Choose the kind of project you want to draft before generation begins.
  3. Enter the First Prompt: Describe the workflow, decision points, actions, and expected outputs.
  4. Review the Draft Session: Inspect the generated conditions, action sets, rule sets, and validation results.
  5. Refine with More Prompts: Submit follow-up prompts to revise the same draft session until it is ready.
  6. Save When Approved: Commit the generated draft only when you are satisfied with the result.

What’s Next?

AI project drafting is still in beta, but it represents an important shift in how new workflows can begin inside AI Rule Engine. We’re continuing to improve how teams generate, review, validate, and refine projects so AI becomes a practical drafting tool rather than a one-time suggestion engine.

We’re looking forward to seeing how teams use resumable sessions and multi-prompt refinement to move from idea to working workflow faster.
